Sobel & Co. taps Sally Glick as first woman principal in the firm
Glick, serving as the firm's chief marketing officer and growth strategist since 2005, is proud of the honor and recognizes the responsibilities inherent in her new role. "Today there is greater acceptance than ever before for nontraditional (non-CPA) professionals like myself to be recognized for our contributions as leaders in our firms. It is exciting to see this new trend gain momentum as it is slowly evolving among CPA firms of all sizes across the country," noted Glick.
Glick has been involved in accounting firm marketing for her entire career. She has been the chairperson of the board for the national Association of Accounting Marketing (AAM), was selected Marketer of the Year in 2003, and in 2007 was elected to the AAM Hall of Fame. In addition, she was on Accounting Today magazine's list of Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting for three years. She serves on several boards - professional-, charitable-, and community-focused. In 2008 she was named one of New Jersey's Top 50 Women in Business and is a well-regarded speaker at local and national programs. Glick also maintains a blog on AccountingWeb.com and authors Marketer's Corner for the Commerce Clearing House "CPA Practice Management Forum."
"This was a no-brainer," added Alan Sobel, the Managing Member at Sobel & Co. "Sally earned this through her hard work, talent, and passion for our firm's success. She has had an extraordinary impact on our firm."
Glick had high praise for the firm, for its culture built on a universal adherence to core values, and for its 50+ year reputation for excellent service. "Sobel & Co. is at the cutting-edge of our profession. My new role clearly demonstrates the partners' commitment to consistently promote people to senior leadership positions based on their contributions to the firm," Glick commented.
