"Accounting Chicks" win $100,000 Minnesota raffle
Lacey Amundsen of Brooklyn Center, Laurie Burbank of Columbia Heights, Deb Connell of Andover, and Lora Pyka of Fridley, work together at a Minnesota Credit Union. This isn't the first time they have joined forces to invest in lottery tickets, but it is their first win.
The Minnesota Millionaire Raffle Game launched on October 30, 2007 with only 500,000 tickets available for purchase. The game sold out on December 24, 2007. Each $10 ticket featured a unique six-digit number that players were to match against the numbers that were drawn on New Year's Day.
One hundred ten winners were awarded, including two $1 million dollar prizes and four $100,000 prizes.
"We should do this again next year," Burbank said as the group claimed their prize at the Lottery's headquarters in Roseville.
