Midwest Accounting Firms Combine Forces
Virchow Krause (VK) is the largest CPA firm in Wisconsin, and the 16th largest firm in the country, according to Public Accounting Report, a leading industry newsletter. The firm has 90 partners, and over 900 total staff. The merger will add 175 people including 28 partners in the Twin Cities.
Lund Koehler Cox & Arkema (LKCA) has 11 partners and 55 total staff located in Minnetonka, a suburb of Minneapolis. LKCA’s full service practice focuses primarily on providing audit tax and advisory services to rapidly growing emerging public companies.
"This is a great opportunity to expand our public client service capabilities" stated Dana House, the Managing Partner of VK's Minnesota Region. "LKCA has a solid reputation and outstanding people. We are pleased to have them join our team", stated House.
"This merger provides us with the ability to continue the rapid growth we have experienced in recent years”, stated James Cox, Managing Partner of LKCA. "A key to growth is the ability to offer the wide range of services that our clients are seeking. Developing them on our own was not an option. VK's existing capabilities will allow us to help clients be more efficient, competitive, and profitable. This merger also provides great opportunities for our staff", stated Cox.
Virchow Krause expanded rapidly in Minneapolis through internal growth and the 1999 merger with House Nezerka & Froelich.
The firm has added capabilities in wealth management, employee benefits consulting, financial staffing, business valuation, insurance services, human resources consulting, and Internet consulting.
Virchow Krause is affiliated internationally with Summit International.
