Through an intensive effort that rivals the scope and services brought about by the Big 5 accounting and consulting firms, Results Accountants’ Systems (RAS) today unveiled a bold plan to transform its 3,000+ clients into major players in the worldwide professional services marketplace. The new venture is built around the Results Accountants’ Network, the world’s leading global network of independent accounting firms, and focuses on enhancing a local and regional accounting firm's ability to serve small- to medium-size enterprise (SME) clients.
RAS is relying on a worldwide reputation as a leading knowledge and skills provider -- its Accountants' Boot Camp is the world's most successful program for CPAs and CAs -- to create a powerful new global accounting brand. The worldwide success of The Accountants' Boot Camp has created thousands of firms and their clients that share a common approach to serving customers with RAS tools and techniques. RAS wants to leverage this knowledge to form an international network of firms who share common processes and retain a consistent vision, while continuing to own and operate their own practices.

RAS’ role will be to drive the network, generate content, facilitate an exchange of knowledge, support network development of activities and build market recognition.
The RAS team understands that today’s two-person or small practice cannot rely on networking alone to reach potential customers as well as recruit and retain the best people.

The new RAN is putting teams in place, led by newly created senior management positions, to provide solutions. The primary programs include:

- Utilizing the size and capacity of the RAN to win work -- assisting with alliances and proposal development that enable local firms to compete for larger clients.
- Providing marketing assistance to firms to reach vertical industry segments. Recognizing this as a chief component, RAS plans to provide several marketing solutions for RAN members that builds integrity, while strongly selling the firm within specific industries.
- International team member exchange that helps attracts recruits globally.
- Partner/executive level development programs to help create tomorrow's leaders.
Other new products and implementation programs for firms include the areas of business development, business consulting, and investment advisory services. The new RAN will support these new products with coordinators in the field, working directly with firms, and a new web site.
To ensure a cutting edge web solution for its members, RAS has taken an equity position in Bullseye Internet Solutions, a web solution and marketing company.
In addition, the new RAN will provide brand new services to assist firms in the profitable delivery of traditional tax and accounting services. And the organization will continue to fully support all current RAS products and services.
Key to the services offered through RAN is the continuous, personalized service approach to relationships so important to recruiting and retaining today’s clients.
"While we’ll give firms the tools they need to reach their customers, we also are keenly aware that a strong network also involves other factors, and we fully intend to meet the needs of our members," said Mr. McKerlie. "For example, we will offer our new Business Development Program that focuses on how to grow a practice and develop business. We also will meet several times annually, in each of three global regions where we do business, as well as an international conference to be held this May in Las Vegas."
The organization is currently at work on a global branding and targeting marketing program designed to penetrate SME markets in North America, the UK and Australia. A new name and formal launch will be announced early in the 2nd Quarter.
