CA Shortage Down Under

The United States isn't the only nation experiencing a shortage in accountants. Although the reasons may vary, the trend in fewer accounting graduates has spread overseas to Australia.

There is a lack of qualified chartered accountants to help companies and individuals understand how recent tax reforms and a strong economy affect their bottom line.

To remedy the problem, the Aussies have begun recruiting CAs from other geographic areas like the United Kingdom that have the same credentials as CAs in Australia.

An awareness campaign also has begun to convince younger audiences to consider accounting as a career choice.
