Amenities, advancement, benefits and a better working environment for women enabled four of the Big 5 accounting firms to make Working Mother [1] magazine's annual survey of the 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers [2] in the United States.

Why did these companies stand apart from others? The magazine found that onsite child care, assistance with eldercare services and other benefits were the attributes that helped propel companies to the top of the list.

The four firms with their rankings included Arthur Andersen [3], Deloitte & Touche [4], Ernst & Young [5] and PricewaterhouseCoopers [6].

None of the firms made the top ten list, which included such well-known companies as IBM, Fannie Mae and Bank of America.

This is the 15th year the magazine has compiled and published the survey.
