Ready, Aim, Fire: Shootists Target IRS
The event was sponsored by the Michigan Militia and its Wayne County brigade and was held on a remote farm in Shiawassee County, Michigan. A 50-calibar gun was the crowd favorite, and earplugs were provided free of charge.
The annual Tax Blast event has drawn a small crowd each year since its enactment in 1995.
One of the participants, Dr. Carmen Steigman, a Farmington Hills pathologist, had a good time firing a five inch bullet into a tax form. "Yes, it was kind of gratifying," said Dr. Steigman. "It was like, 'Here, Uncle Sam, this is for you.' "
