Pennsylvanians Get Two Extra Days to File Taxes
So many people exercised their option to e-file tax returns with the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue that the state's computers couldn't handle the traffic. On Monday evening, the state's servers overloaded and people trying to access the Revenue Department's Web site saw "Server Too Busy" error messages.
Determined to accommodate its tax-paying residents, Pennsylvania's Secretary of State graciously extended the filing deadline - for all residents - no matter how they file their tax return. All Pennsylvania tax returns are due at midnight today, April 18.
For those Pennsylvanians who are still interested in filing their tax return on-line, they may do so at pa.direct.file . Taxpayers may also download paper forms that can be mailed by midnight Wednesday by going to www.revenue.state.pa.us/ .
The two-day extension applies only to Pennsylvania state income tax returns, not the Federal income tax returns.
