As reported [1] last week, Robert K. Elliott has assumed the chairmanship of AICPA, effectively becoming the first chair for the 21st Century. He succeeds former chair Olivia Kirtley. The appointment was made official during AICPA's Fall Council meeting in Seattle, WA.

On the top of Elliott's agenda is placing technology in the hands of the Institute's 330,000 members by demonstrating the profession's ability to adapt to an ever-changing landscape and delivery value-added services to clients and employers.

Elliott was heavily involved over the several years in the New Assurance Services arena, and continues the work begun several years back with the CPA Vision. He was profiled earlier in the year as a pathfinder, and has his own Pathfinder Profile [2] on the Vision Web site [3].

Elliott is a partner with KPMG.
