The Institute of Management Accountants [1] is awarding up to 20 faculty grants of $5,000 each as part of their Faculty Enhancement Program.

The goal is to promote the profession to students, and by awarding the grants, the IMA hopes faculty can draw upon many of the programs provided by the organization and communicate these programs to students.

Deadline for grant applications is Oct. 1. The grant will be given in two separate allotments - $2,500 when the application is approved, and another $2,500 once the evaluation of the program is complete next spring.

'The IMA recognizes the essential role faculty members play in helping to prepare students for successful careers,' said David T. Schweitz, Executive Director of the IMA. 'We are confident that the FEP will go a long way in encouraging academic creativity in the teaching of management accounting, financial management and information systems and in nurturing the educational development of financial professionals.'
