David Thomas

David Thomas brings more than 20 years’ experience in the fields of accounting and Internet architecture to his role as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Intacct Corporation.

Thomas first developed accounting solutions in 1980, when he founded Cyma Systems, Inc., a leading provider of PC-accounting software. While there, he personally engineered the first PC-based accounting system and established a customer base of 45,000 companies. Later, he negotiated Cyma’s acquisition by McGraw-Hill. He is also the creator of Capitalist Pig, a business-simulation game that became a top-10 best seller in 1992.

In 1995, Thomas founded BroadQuest, Inc., where he led the development of enterprise portals to help large companies view enterprise-wide information. Key customers included Novell, Wells Fargo Bank and Johnson & Johnson.

Thomas is a frequent speaker and participant on industry panels focused on technical support and vertical business applications. He holds patents in security and user authentication.
