New VP for Coalition for Affordable Accounting

Appleton, WI. (September 27, 2001) -- The National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) is pleased to announce that on September 20, Charles Helms was elected Vice President of the Coalition for Affordable Accounting. Larry Gray, president of NATP, congratulated Mr. Helms, who is also NATP's National Vice President, stating, "He understands the issues that are important to tax professionals when it comes to the practice of accountancy and will be a great asset to the Coalition."

The mission of the Coalition for Affordable Accounting is to assure that the public has access to an array of accounting services that are consistent with their needs at prices they can afford, and to insure the legal right of all accounting and tax professionals to offer these services on a competitive and marketable basis is preserved.

The National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP), founded in 1979, is dedicated to excellence in taxation knowledge and related services. The national office is located in Appleton, WI and employs 35 professionals. NATP's government affairs office is in Washington, DC.

NATP serves professionals who work in all areas of taxation. Members include Enrolled Agents, Certified Public Accountants, individual practitioners, accountants, attorneys, and financial planners.
