AccountingWEB blogger Michelle Golden earns Certified Professional Facilitator credential
The CPF assessment process involves demonstrating a mastery of seven core competencies defined by IAF. The competencies — which include planning appropriate group processes, creating and sustaining a participatory environment, and guiding a group to useful outcomes — are verified both in written submissions and through a professionally evaluated face-to-face workshop.
"For me, the CPF credential is like topping a hill to see a lot more road ahead... the beginning of a new phase: evolving my facilitation style and methods. Group facilitation is essential for getting everyone in sync to accomplish and sustain dramatic results," said Golden. "It's a pretty handy skill within any organization which is why IAF is seeing great demand for their certification program across all sectors, from companies, large and small, to local and national government. In fact, even the United Nations employs professional facilitators."
Facilitation is one of the service offerings of Golden Marketing Inc., Golden's organizational consulting and marketing implementation firm. Golden authors a well-trafficked blog for professional service providers both on her own Web site and on AccountingWEB where she discusses techniques for improving their firms and their practices.
