New Internet Job Sites Offer More
A few years ago, a leading job search site like monster.com was the only place to go. Today, so-called “second generation” job search sites are offering more services at a lower cost. Capitalism is alive and well on the Net today.
Veteran job search sites charge companies more than $200 for a job listing; new sites charge as little as $39. The added services are nice, too. One site, e-mailjobs.com , offers free, unlimited resume searches for companies. Veteran sites limit “free” searches.
Veteran sites have built huge databases with thousands of resumes, but getting in front of your target is what is most important. A service offered by e-mailjobs.com that isn’t available on older sites like monster.com is an e-mail job notification system. When a new job is posted that matches a job seeker’s criteria, the site will automatically send an email notifying the person about the listing. This may help employers hit their target with amazing accuracy.
