The reasons were attributed to the variety of work involved, along with a professional challenge to the work itself. Respondents included 1,400 CFOs from companies with more than 20 employees.
Flexibility to hours' worked also is an atractive component of the consulting field.
'The wide range of project work available has made consulting a viable career option for executives seeking more flexibility and greater professional challenge,' said Paul McDonald, executive director of RHI Management Resources.
