The World's Billionaires, According to Forbes

Posted by accountingweb on Mar 4 2002 366 printer friendly
The 2002 Forbes' 16th annual world's billionaire ranking is out. In 2001, there were 538 billionaires, and in 2002, that number dropped to just 497, what a shame.

No surprise, Bill Gates [1], Founder, Chairman and Chief Software Architect of Microsoft remains in the number one position where he has been for five years running.

Others to make the 2002 Billionaire list are:

Second Place: Warren Buffet [2] of Berkshire Hathaway.

Third Place: Karl and Theo Albrecht [3] of Aldi Discount Stores.

Fourth Place: Paul Allen [3] of Microsoft.

Fifth Place: Lawrence Ellison [3] of Oracle.

Sixth through Tenth Place: Jim, John, Alice, Robson and Helen Walton [3], all of Wal-Mart.

See who else made this years' Forbes Billionaire List. [3]
