CPA Firms, Financial Services Companies Among Fortune's '100 Best Companies'
Michigan-based CPA firm Plante & Moran took top honors for a CPA firm coming in at #11. At 1,180 employees, Plante & Moran was the third smallest organization named to the Top 100 list, and one of only three CPA firms recognized by Fortune. "National business scandals made 2002 a tough year psychologically for CPAs," said [2] Plante & Moran Managing Partner Bill Hermann. "To try to keep our staff upbeat and positive, we did our best to reinforce our firm’s values and guiding principles – while communicating the importance of honesty, ethics, and integrity," said Hermann.
Plante & Moran was noted for a variety of innovative workplace policies and practices, including its Statement of Principles, culture, a low-turnover rate, and flexible scheduling and non-traditional career paths.
