E-Learning Clicks with CPAs - Before and After Exams
CPA Review Courses at E&Y
Ernst & Young worked with Intellinex and Bisk Education to design its online CPA review program for audit and tax employees. The program features digitally streamed audio and video lectures delivered directly to the PCs of the 1500 or so E&Y employees who plan to take the CPA exam. This program allows staff to study and prepare for the exam at their work site, home or even on the road when they are traveling. But the firm also provides an instructor-led program for those who prefer that approach.
Participants in the online CPA review program can choose between the self-study route, which provides access to the study materials plus a "proctor" to address high-level questions, and the instructor-led program, which is offered in six-week sessions. "With the online CPA review program, each learner can determine when, where, and how much he or she needs to study for the CPA exam," said Ray McGowen, chief learning officer at Ernst & Young. "Access anytime and anywhere to learning online enhances our employees' work/life integration and provides more personalized learning opportunities."
CPE Courses for Dallas CPAs
The Dallas Chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs worked with 24/7 University and Dr. Nita J. Clyde to create its online ethics course, Ethics and Texas CPAs: Doing the Right Thing. This course allows CPAs to complete both the 4 hour initial mandatory ethics education requirement and the 2 hour refresher course requirement online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Dallas Chapter Executive Director Margaret Campbell said "We've investigated online delivery of CPE in the past, but the 24/7 University approach is uniquely designed to meet the needs of our members... We have plans to enable members to satisfy a significant portion of their annual CPE requirement directly from our web site by year end."
