MAS 90 Internet Capability Widens With New Program

Sage Software [1] has announced a partnership with Concentric Network [2] to provide high-speed hosting abilities for its popular acounting program, MAS 90, allowing users of their Internet.access service better and faster connections to the accounting package. MAS 90 internet.access allows user companies to conduct business with clients over the Internet and give their clients the ability to safely log onto and place orders on their Web site, which will directly update information into MAS 90 in real time.

What does this mean to the CPA who uses MAS 90 for clients and customers? Primarily better service and faster access to the Internet, according to Sage. MAS 90 will now be available via DSL lines so that clients can perform their accounting functions securely and quickly on the Internet.

High-speed dedicated DSL Internet connections start at $89 per month for 144K of bandwidth. Hosting of the IIS components of MAS 90 internet.access and up to 40 megabytes of corporate Web site content can be purchased for only $34.95 per month.

Spokespersons for Sage also say the new system is easy to install and an inexpensive solution for middle-market compnaies who are the primary users of MAS 90 (versus larger comanies who use Sage's Acuity, for example).
