Cracking the Safe Open on Wireless Banking
At the COMDEX show, global business giant EDS [1] has developed [2] a way to conduct banking transactions using the Palm VII [3]. The Palm VII is the newest version of the PalmPilot that also is wireless and connects to the Internet using built-in software and a modem.
Already, EDS and its Wireless Banking Solutions Unit is working with USABancShares.com [4], a bank already offering services over the Internet, but also hopes to work with other land-based institutions and credit unions.
For example, EDS is in negotiations with Texans Credit Union [5], a Texas-based organization serving many customers around the state.
Cost for the new service would be set by the customer's respective bank, and would most likely include airtime fees.
