Two Leading Associations To Merge January 1
The new entity, to be known as AGN International-North America, Inc. (AGN), creates an association of 52 independent accounting and business consulting firms located in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Annual billings of the 52 firms exceeded $350 million in 2000. In addition, nine of those firms’ billings’ exceed $10 million each annually, and seven are listed in various top 100 firms lists in the U.S.
Curtis Fowler, President of AGN International-North America, Inc., and Bill Young, Chairman of the North American region for TAG International, said common growth strategies, the decision to take a broader view of geographic overlap and the "striking similarities" between the two entities’ members, structure and services prompted the merger discussions, which began last March.
"We are very hopeful for a 100% combination internationally as well,” Young said, noting that if this occurs, the resultant 200 member firm organization would have worldwide turnover (billings to clients) of approximately $909.3 million and be the 14th largest accounting network in the world."
