E-Resumes are Prime for Recruiters and Job Seekers
As more and more companies go online to process daily busines activites, they, too, are using online capabiliites to scan resumes into the HR systems, search for keywords related to specific jobs and "virtually" eliminating paper.
No wonder ... it is estimated that large companies spend up to $100,000 or more annually in staff time just sorting through resumes that are mailed. That's valuable time and money out of an employer's pocket.
Because companies are using database technologies to search for keywords, job seekers should leave creativity out and concentrate on content. There are a number of recommendations, including focusing on nouns instead of verbs, and describing skills that match the dataset used by employers.
