Accounting Salaries Increase 4.65 Percent In 2000
Large accounting firms (those with fees of $250M+), will see salaries increase 4.8 percent with managers and directors looking at an 8.4 percent increase. Small accounting firms may be hit hard, too, with first-year accountants facing a 5.8 increase in average base compensation. Corporate managers can look forward to a 6.9 percent increase.
The fastest growing salary for 2000 goes to accounts payable managers at medium-sized firms. Base compensation for these individuals is expected to rise by 14.1 percent to a range of $32,000 to $45,000 per year. Accounts payable managers at large firms should see a 9.4 percent gain, to between $37,250 and $47,000 annually.
