Carlin, Charron & Rosen, LLP (CCR), a New England independent certified public accounting and business advisory firm, announced that David Platt, CPA, JD has been named a partner in the Providence office. In this role, Platt will be responsible for contributing to the growth of the Providence office by focusing on clients in the South Coast area of New England, which includes all of Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.
Platt is a partner in CCR's Assurance & Advisory Services department and specializes in manufacturing, wholesale/distribution, litigation support (expert testimony, mergers and acquisitions), non profits and companies in the marine trade. He earned a bachelor’s degree from The Citadel (the military college of South Carolina) and a Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University (RWU) School of Law.
Platt brings more than 18 years of experience to CCR. Before joining CCR, Platt was a partner at Tofias, PC, based in Cambridge, Mass., where he was co-managing partner of Rhode Island operations and partner-in-charge of audit and accounting for the South Coast of New England. Prior to its merger with Tofias, he was a partner with Rooney, Plotkin & Willey in Rhode Island.
“David has quickly demonstrated his commitment to growing the firm by bringing in substantial new revenue to our Providence office,” said Robert H. Charron, managing partner, CCR. “We are confident that his contributions will help CCR become the premier firm in Southeastern New England, especially for mid-market clients seeking an alternative to the Big 4 experience.”
“We are extremely excited about David joining the firm and helping grow our New England practice,” said Catherine M. Parente, partner-in-charge of CCR’s Providence office. “Dave’s depth of experience serving a multitude of industries including the manufacturing and wholesale industries will help us achieve our desired goal of doubling the office in revenue and staff by 2008.”
