Hundreds of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and technology experts assemble at the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Information Technology Conference to share news and information on the changing IT and how it can benefit their business, their career and their clients. Attendees also have the opportunity to explore cutting edge technology products and services, hear top industry speakers and network. TECH 2006 is being held June 12-14 in Austin, Texas, with optional workshops offered on Sunday, June 11.
The keynote speaker at TECH 2006 is Frank Muehleman, Vice President, Dell Home and Small Business Division. The Keynote Presentation, “Direct from Dell – A Look at Technology Trends and Tips to Help Your Business Grow”, is scheduled to begin at 8:10 a.m., Monday, June 12. Among the topics to be covered during the 50-minutes are how small and medium-sized businesses are buying, using, and managing IT, technology trends and Dell’s perspective on the technologies to watch for the future.
In addition to the Keynote Presentation, the conference will include both General and Concurrent Sessions.
The General Sessions include:
- Tech Update 2006 (Monday) – Learn the latest hardware and software developments from Randy Johnston, Executive Vice President, Network Management Group, Inc., K2 Enterprises.
- When Web Self-Service Isn’t Usable – It’s a Disservice (Monday) - over lunch Joe Rotella, SPHR, CTO and Director of Operations, Delphia Consulting, LLC, will discuss industry trends in Web self-service, as well as common web site problems and how to reduce or eliminate them.
- The CPA Technology Advisor’s 2006 Innovation Awards and Presentation (Tuesday) – Greg LaFollette, CPA.CTP, Executive Editor of The CPA Technology Advisor Eide Bailly, LLP will honor outstanding individuals during the lunch break.
The conference offers five tracks: Business and Industry (B&I); Consulting; Consulting; Firm Issues; Management; and Technology; along with four fields of study: Auditing; Management; Personal Development; and Specialized Knowledge.
