The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is looking to hire nine qualified Revenue Agents for the Phoenix office. The position pays from $29,000 to $69,000 depending on work experience and other qualifications.

Those who apply must be United States citizens and have a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting from an accredited college or university that included at least 30 semester hours in accounting. These 30 hours may include up to 6 semester hours in other business related courses. The coursework must include study in: Principles, Intermediate, Cost, Audit and Advanced Accounting. Advanced level accounting courses may be substituted.
Applicants may also qualify if they satisfy one of these requirements:
- At least four full years of progressive academic study (120 semester hours) at an accredited college or university that included 30 semester accounting hours; or
- They have a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) obtained through written examination in a state, territory or the District of Columbia; or
- A combination of education and experience that included at least 30 semester hours in accounting.
Revenue Agents generally conduct on-site examinations of individual, business and corporate tax returns to determine correct federal tax liabilities.
