Stacy Galin has joined A.T. LOCKE, a provider of accounting services, business analysis, and financial and strategic guidance to emerging and midsized organizations, as an accounting specialist on the firm's rapidly-growing team. Galin is a 2011 graduate of Winthrop University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science with dual concentrations in accounting and management. While at Winthrop, she completed an extended internship with Duke Energy, serving in its nuclear finance group and working closely with business analysts to prepare budgets and manage finances of multiple departments. She will work with a variety of A.T. LOCKE clients from the firm's Greenville headquarters.

Grant Thornton LLP named Doreen Lilly Griffith the firm's new national managing partner of Tax Services effective August 1, 2012. Griffith is currently the firm's regional tax partner in the West region and is the tax practice leader for San Francisco and San Jose. As part of the firm's National Tax Practice Leadership team, she has played a key role in setting the firm's tax strategy and developing talent for the practice. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Griffith was a senior manager with PwC. Griffith holds a bachelor's degree in professional accountancy from Louisiana Tech University.

Sanders Thaler & Associates, LLP, an accounting firm based in Jericho, New York, with an additional office in New York City, has announced that Elliott Lavietes, CPA, has joined the firm as its new tax director. He comes from Citrin Cooperman, LLP in Manhattan, where he was a tax partner. Lavietes has more than twenty-five years of tax experience, specializing in tax research and planning for an array of industries, including entertainment, real estate, and personal services. Lavietes earned his Bachelor of Arts from Queens College and an MBA from St. John's University. He also has an advanced degree in taxation from Pace University.

As a senior manager in the tax and strategic business services practice, Corky focuses on federal and state tax issues for corporations, partnerships, and limited liability corporations. He serves several industries, including manufacturing and distribution, oil and gas, biodiesel, and software. He earned a Master of Accountancy degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from Texas State University.
Adam McCane, CPA, has more than eight years of experience in public accounting and currently works in Weaver's assurance practice in Fort Worth. McCane focuses on providing audit, review, and other assurance services for public and privately held oil and gas companies; financial services entities, including banks, trusts, and investment companies; and public sector entities, such as school districts and cities. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and finance from Texas Christian University.
Jacob Nethery, CPA, has more than nine years of experience in public accounting and works in the assurance services practice out of the firm's Fort Worth office. He focuses on accounting and auditing services for privately held businesses, with significant experience in the manufacturing and distribution and service industries. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Neha S. Patel, CPA, CISA, is an advisory services senior manager in Dallas and has more than eight years of experience in public accounting. Prior to joining Weaver, she was with a Big Four firm in its technology and security risk services practice. Her experience is focused on governance, risk, and compliance, including SSAE 16 (formerly SAS 70) audits and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) assessments. Patel has managed teams delivering IT-focused solutions in various industries. She earned a Master of Professional Accounting degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting, with a minor in management information systems from the University of Texas at Austin.
Delan Paulsen, CPA, is in the assurance services practice in Dallas and has more than fourteen years of experience in public accounting. He serves clients across a variety of industries, including real estate and construction, manufacturing and distribution, and technology. He has in-depth experience in auditing and consulting for commercial and residential projects for owners/operators, third-party managers, and developers. He earned a Master of Accounting degree and Bachelor of Science degree in business administration at the University of Southern California.
Mostafa Popal, CPA, has more than ten years of experience in public accounting and is in the Dallas assurance practice. His emphasis is on accounting and auditing services as well as SEC financial reporting and SOX 404 compliance. He has extensive industry knowledge in the oil and gas, manufacturing, distribution, retail, telecommunications, gaming, healthcare, and nonprofit sectors. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Montclair State University.
George W. Rendziperis, JD, is a state and local tax professional in Weaver's Austin office. He has more than ten years of experience; six years in state and local tax and four years in law. He advises clients on state and local tax matters and provides tax planning and consultation on multistate issues. In addition, Rendziperis represents clients in state tax controversies, including audit defense and state tax litigation matters. Prior to joining Weaver, he clerked for the Honorable Marilyn Kelly of the Michigan Supreme Court. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Michigan State University College of Law, a Master of Science degree in finance from Walsh College, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economic and political science concentrating in accounting from Albion College.
