EisnerAmper LLP has announced that James A. (Jim) Hatch, CPA, was admitted to the firm as a partner in the firm’s tax group, and was named partner-in-charge of the firm’s new human capital services practice. Hatch's practice will concentrate in several areas regarding compensation, benefits design, and human resource transaction services.
Eugene, OR-based Kernutt Stokes has announced the addition of six new members to its professional staff. Erik Quick-Warner, an associate, has joined the audit department. Quick-Warner earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from Northwest Christian University in Eugene, OR. Chris Provencher, an associate, has joined the audit department. Provencher earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. Blayne Lowary, an associate, has joined the tax department. Lowary earned a Master of Accounting from Ohio State University in Columbus, OH and a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics from the University of Oregon. Marcia Adler, a paraprofessional, joins the firm from Oregon Eye Associates with 22 years experience as their controller. Alder earned her Bachelor of Science from Goddard College in Vermont. Li Hoang, network support analyst, has joined the Catalyst team, Kernutt Stokes IT systems and consulting division. Hoang earned an Associate’s of Applied Sciences in Computer Networking from Lane Community College in Eugene, OR. Megan Sanchez, network support analyst, has joined the Catalyst team, Kernutt Stokes IT systems and consulting division. Sanchez earned an Associate’s of Applied Science in Computer Networking at ITT in Indianapolis, IN.

Published by McGraw-Hill, the book is designed to help executives who need to understand how to prevent, detect, and respond to issues of impropriety in the business setting.

The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) will present J. Michael Kirkland, CPA with its Outstanding CPA in Industry Award on May 19 at the NYSSCPA’s 114th annual election meeting and dinner at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel. This award recognizes CPA financial executives with records of outstanding professional achievement in a private business or industry. Kirkland is a director in the Deutsche Bank AG, Accounting Policy and Advisory Group. Kirkland is a member of the NYSSCPA board of directors, executive committee, the quality enhancement policy committee, and the foundation of accounting education’s curriculum committee. He also serves as chair of the Society’s real estate tax force and cochair of its industry outreach task force.
