The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Committee of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) have announced the availability of their 2006 collections.
The FASB Original Pronouncements As Amended and Current Text Annual Bound editions 2006-2007 became available August 15. The authoritative Original Pronouncements As Amended as of June 1, 2006, is a three volume set containing FASB Statements of Standards, Concepts, Statements, Interpretations, Technical Bulletins, and FASB Staff Positions (FSP), as well as American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) APB Opinions, Interpretations and Accounting Research Bulletins. New additions to the 2006-2007 edition include:
- FAS 155, Accounting for Certain Hybrid Financial Statements, which amends FASB Statements Nos. 133 and 140.
- FAS 156, Accounting for Servicing of Financial Assets, which amends Statement No. 140.
- 16 new FSPs
The FASB Current Text as of June 1, 2006, is a two volume set integrating the financial accounting and reporting standards included in Original Pronouncements As Amended arranged by topic for general and industry standards.

In addition, the Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Committee of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) has released its 2006 Articles of Merit, a collection of award-winning international articles, including 10 articles selected as part of the Annual Articles of Merit Award for Distinguished Contribution to Management Accounting. This includes the winning article for 2006:
Performance Measures in Supply Chains” by Kim Langfield-Smith and David Smith, first published in CPA Australia’s Australian Accounting Review. Other articles of merit were initially published in the AICPA’s Journal of Accountancy, The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) Financial Management, CMA Canada’s CMA Management, CPA Australia’s Australian Accounting Review, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales’ Performance Measurement, Finance & Management Special Report, and the Institute of Management Accountants’ (IMA) (US) Strategic Finance.
