The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), one of the world’s largest associations for financial professionals in the corporate workplace, will converge in New Orleans from June 17-20 for its 82nd Annual Conference and Exposition. “Native” daughter, Cokie Roberts, is scheduled as a keynote speaker to provide an insider’s look at the national political scene. In addition to the opportunity to earn up to 35 Continuing Professional Education credits, conference attendees will have a host of activities to help sharpen their professional development including presentations on “The Broadband Revolution” and “XBRL” the new extensible financial language that is making it possible for accounting and financial professionals to exchange financial information easily over the Internet.
“As the American workplace continues to undergo dynamic change, we aptly named this year’s conference Doing Business in the Knowledge Age,” said IMA President, Frank Minter. “This annual gathering is a unique opportunity for accounting and financial management professionals from all industries, to network and learn from leaders in the field. We know that many of our members take away useful information that helps them successfully meet their objectives at every stage of their careers.”
