"This was another strategic move that has been in our plans for some time. We are now pleased to announce the completion of this merger and delighted to have RCG on our team," commented Carol Cochran, REDW principal and benefits department head. "RCG's knowledge and expertise complements our current service offerings and will allow us to more efficiently and cost-effectively serve our Arizona clients. With RCG now on board, and through our membership with the Alliance Benefits Group, REDW is a powerful solution for meeting all employee benefits needs of organizations of all sizes."
As part of the merger, Mike Russello, founder and owner of RCG Plan Administration, LLC (RCG), has joined REDW's benefits department as a client relationship manager. "This is an exciting day for our team," said Russello. "Joining forces with REDW means our clients will benefit from expanded access to more services, technical expertise, and resources locally, regionally and nationally."
Russello has extensive experience providing benefits consulting services to Native American tribes and small and midsized businesses. Since 1996, RCG has managed numerous retirement plans, including Native American tribal government plans and Tribal ERISA plans (for casinos, hotels, and other enterprises). Russello holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania.
Julie O'Brien has also come on board as a benefits supervisor. She has worked for RCG for more than twelve years performing daily recordkeeping, compliance, and administration of qualified and nonqualified retirement plans. O'Brien holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with an emphasis in pure mathematics from the University of Washington. She is a Qualified 401(k) Administrator through the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA). In addition, she is a member of the ASPPA and serves on its Education and Examination Committee as a subject matter expert for daily recordkeeping/plan administration tasks.
