Blue & Co., LLC (Blue), a leading regional firm in the Midwest with eight offices in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, has announced plans to merge with Suttner Accounting Services LLC, a public accounting and consulting firm in Bloomington, Indiana. The merger will add a Bloomington office to the firm, strengthening the organization's position in the region. The combined company will operate under the Blue name.
"Blue has been interested in expanding into Bloomington with a physical presence for a number of years and has built a good practice base from its existing Southern Indiana offices", Michael Fleetwood, director-in-charge of the Southern Indiana market for Blue said in a conversation with AccountingWEB. "This merger provides us the opportunity to leverage our existing specialties into this market. Bloomington offers the opportunity for significant growth, and it was important for Blue to find a quality, local firm to merge with to position ourselves to grow this market together."
"The merger is a growth opportunity for both firms", said Jim Suttner, managing partner of Suttner Accounting. "The Bloomington market needs a large regional firm with the kind of expertise that Blue will bring. We had grown rapidly since our founding in 2005, and we needed to expand. The merger will give allow us to grow and to offer additional services to our clients. We will be moving to a new, larger office and will add staff as needed."
"I have worked with Blue in the past on mutual clients", Suttner said. "They are a great firm - very good people to work with."
