Urgent: New IRS rule for e-file providers
The IRS has established new e-file rules that apply to all
Authorized IRS e-file Providers, including Online Providers,
Intermediate Service Providers, and Electronic Return
Originators (EROs), that obtain taxpayer information via the
Internet directly or through third parties in order to e-file
federal returns.
FASB seeks comments on FAS 140-d
The Financial Accounting Standards Board has issued proposed
Staff Position (FSP) FAS 140-d, "Accounting for Transfers of
Financial Assets and Repurchase Financing Transactions." The
Board currently seeks written comments on the proposed FSP,
which addresses the accounting for the transfer of financial
assets and a subsequent repurchase financing.
IRS issues final regs on reportable shelter transactions
The IRS has issued final regulations on the disclosure of
reportable shelter transactions. These regulations affect
shelter participants and material advisors. The new regulations
are T.D. 9350, T.D. 9351, and T.D. 9352.
