TOP TEN WAYS TO SOAR THROUGH TAX SEASON

Tracie Stephens with Schroedel, Scullin and Bestic, LLC in Canfield, Ohio, has provided her top ten tips for soaring through the busy season. They are:

1. Keep organized; keep a list of "open items" by client and a "to do" list, overall.

2. Keep all team members on the same job updated on the status and progress of the job.

3. Have candy and chocolate readily available for anyone in need.

4. Try to wrap-up projects before starting the next thing.

5. Remind myself that I can't do all things, for all people, all the time. (I try to focus on what I am doing now and not worry about who else needs me or what else I need to get done.

6. Remember that this time of year isn't so easy for family, either.

7. Enjoy lunch. When I'm out of the office and forced to take a break, might as well have fun!

8. Give feedback and reinforce the positives!

9. Set aside time where work isn't allowed. (Since I can work at home, it's always there, haunting me. Sometimes I need to know that it's okay to do something other than work, and not feel guilty!)

10. Appreciate that there isn't much else to do in February/March in Ohio.
