The Ten Cardinal Sins: Entrepreneurial Errors You Must Never, Never Commit
I've never known an entrepreneur who started a business without making a few mistakes. Certainly, you'll be no exception. You'll make them, try to fix them, and then move on. However, some entrepreneurs fall into traps that are bigger than mistakes. They are, in effect, entrepreneurial sins.

Woman wins 28 cent toilet paper tax case
A woman from Murrysville, Pennsylvania has won a law suit against retailer Kmart after the store assessed her 28 cents for sales tax on toilet paper, an item that is not subject to sales tax in Pennsylvania.

Editor's Note

This week's stories bring to light some interesting facts. For example, the perserverence of a consumer who refused to sit back when charged an unlawful 28 cents in sales tax shows that one person can stand up against a large company and win. We witness the precarious nature of beauty pageant vote calculations and the no doubt devastating results when the numbers are added up incorrectly. And we also get to learn about the possible state-level tax benefits of same-sex marriages, but find that tax benefits alone are apparently not enough enticement to get some lawmakers to enact new legislation.

We have news of our own here at AccountingWEB. We have launched a new area of our site, the Tax Zone. Please take a moment to visit the Tax Zone, examine some of the resources we have provided for you, and, as always, give us your feedback regarding what more we can provide at AccountingWEB to make your job easier.
