LEADERSHIP TIP: LEADING MEANS CHANGING

Leading, by it's very nature, creates change. When you lead, you impact those around you, whether they are co-workers, customers, family, or just by-standers. In other words: you change them and yourself. Many people, however, fear change and see it as a bad thing. Not only does this make it more difficult to lead these people, but it is unlikely any of them will become leaders themselves. To truly lead, you must understand that leading changes you and those around you, then you must help those around you discover that change can be positive and is not something that should be avoided. That way, you not only lead, you help develop the next generation of leaders.
