I don't know about you, but I'm having trouble keeping track of
what month it is. Oh, I know it's September, that's easy. But
as you can see by some of our news stories this week, it's also
National Preparedness Month and National College Savings Month,
and this week is National Payroll Week. I don't know who comes
up with these holidays, but I'm beginning to think there is a
commemoration for everything.
With a little digging, I found out that September is also
National Cholesterol Education Month, National Skin Care
Awareness Month, and National Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder Month. I also found out there are hundreds of food
holidays. September is National Potato Month, National Rice
Month, National Biscuit Month, and National Chicken Month.
Those foods all seem to go well together, so it's nice we can
celebrate them at once. One of the best commemorations I found
is that September is National Children's Good Manners Month. I
think we should consider having that one every month. But my
personal favorite is National Be Kind to Editors and Writers
Month. I don't know who created that celebration, but if I find
out, I'll be sure to send a card.
