ETIQUETTE TIP: ACCEPTING BUSINESS CARDS |
Exchanging business cards is a common business practice. Although
it is always wise to be prepared to exchange business cards, it
falls to the individual with the higher position to initiate the
exchange. When accepting a business card, take a moment or two to
look at it before stowing it in a planner or business card
holder. Never stick a business card in a wallet that will be
placed in a back pocket or just drop it into a purse, as these
not only show disrespect for the individual whose card it is, it
also demonstrates a certain level of disorganization on the part
of the person accepting the business card. Don't forget to say
thank you when accepting a business card from someone.

I'm in a firm of about a dozen people and we've never done any sort of I.T. consulting work--but a number of our small business clients need it. I sure would appreciate hearing the good, the bad and the ugly from others who have gone down this road before us.
