Equisys extends document management add-on for Microsoft Dynamics NAV
Equisys recently the announced availability of version 4.1 of its Zetadocs for NAV software solution. The new version extends the electronic capture and delivery of documents, allowing customers to further improve efficiency and use Zetadocs to handle a wider range of business processes.Version 4.0 of Zetadocs for NAV introduced a new drag-and-drop document capture capability, allowing e-mail, faxes, or scanned documents to be dragged and dropped onto the Equisys created document fast-tab in the NAV Role Tailored Client (RTC), automatically uploading the file to SharePoint and creating the appropriate links in NAV. Version 4.1 now extends that capability to users of NAV's Classic Client in Zetadocs Capture editions."We have been delighted at the response from customers and partners to the drag and drop feature of Zetadocs for NAV, allowing them to harness the full power of SharePoint 2010," said Chris Oswald, CEO at Equisys. "Automatically archiving and linking documents for retrieval in both NAV and SharePoint allows customers to improve their customer service by handling queries quickly and efficiently. We're therefore pleased to be able to extend this functionality to users of NAV's Classic Client as well as the RTC. We are now looking at how we can develop the use of SharePoint further, particularly in the Cloud as part of the forthcoming release of Office 365."The new version of Zetadocs for NAV also allows Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to be used to extract text from a scanned document, passing it to partner written code in NAV to automatically file and link that document. This can then initiate a workflow, with extracted text used to reduce the need for manual data entry. The Delivery Plus capabilities of Zetadocs have also been improved, allowing complex documents such as large technical drawings or multi-page spreadsheets to be selected and added automatically to NAV reports as they are e-mailed. Zetadocs Capture Plus has also been improved to help finance teams handle more complex document processing requirements. Items in the document queue can now be checked out, allowing a user to mark a document while it is being processed, preventing colleagues from inadvertently starting work on the same document. Finally, version 4.1 of Zetadocs for NAV now supports group policy roll-out to ease the installation of client software.Version 4.1 of Zetadocs for NAV is available immediately from approved Equisys partners, and is available in English, Dutch, and French language releases with out-of-the-box support for NAV's UK (GB), North American (NA), Belgian (BE), Dutch (NL) and worldwide (W1) databases.
Voice of the Editor
Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
