About Bay Colony Partners:
Bay Colony Partners is a privately held independent retirement planning firm specializing in the development of process driven plans and strategies for companies and individuals. Viewed as a single source for both retirement and executive benefit solutions, the Bay Colony Partners approach is consultative rather than transactional and provides education-based advice and recommendations that originate from a position of knowledge and independence. Bay Colony Partners has its own RIA (Registered Investment Advisor) and broker-dealership, as well as its own insurance company, so that the advice and recommendations offered by the principals come without any obligation to a specific product or company. Services span a wide range of business/investment needs, from the "non-qualified" (non-tax-exempt) Executive Suite plans to the "qualified" (tax-exempt) 401K programs which provide retirement plan solutions and services for employers and their employees. From high-ranking executives to group 401K plans, Bay Colony Partners specializes in a proactive, strong, diligent approach to each client's needs. In a move that is rare in the industry, their 401K specialist, a principal in the firm, typically sits on the investment committee of client companies providing a greater level of support than is common in the industry. Their consultative approach has earned Bay Colony Partners the confidence of a wide and varied client base, including (on the Executive Suite side) a number of hospital and university executives and banking officials. On the 401K side the firm works with a wide range of companies to change the dynamic of 401K investments. Industry statistics point to the fact that 70% of 401K investors make only one choice and Bay Colony Partners seeks to educate clients to expect more and to be more diligent in selecting the right firm to partner with. Recently, Bay Colony Partners added a third component to their menu with the establishment of a Wealth Management practice. Founding principals Bob Auditore and Gary Cowles bring more than 50 years' combined experience to the practice. Bay Colony Partners is located at 400 TradeCenter, Suite 4880, Woburn, MA 01801. Which isn’t completely true. I mean, occasionally I drop by when I manage to sneak out of the nonstop frat party over at Going Concern, but I’m mostly a wallflower over there. I’m happy to say that I’ve been given express permission (or explicit orders, if you like) to wander over here to AccountingWEB more often.
Why is that, you might ask? My job is to replace the irreplaceable Gail Perry as Editor-in-Chief. What does that mean? I don’t really know! I think it’ll be fun getting a feel for things, throwing in my own thoughts here and there, and listening to the discussions you’re having about the accounting profession.
