UHY remembers the doggies during the holidays

Shelter dogs in the New Haven, Connecticut area will have plenty to woof about this New Year. They will be the happy recipients of doggie goodie bags donated by the New Haven office of UHY LLP and UHY Advisors, Inc. The doggie gift program, developed by Valerie Schmidt, director of Human Resources, grew out of an e-mail blast she sends each week with pictures of a "dog of the week." Each of the dogs that appeared in the blast is now featured in a "Dogs of UHY Collage Holiday Card" that will be delivered to local shelters along with the goodie bags.

Life in the Big Four, Part V: Hotel Love

Quick! You are feeling romantic, and your significant other is nowhere to be found!!!!! What do you do?!?!If your first thought is the following: "Walk out of the hotel room, take the elevator down to the lobby, slip $10 to the hotel clerk for an adult movie, and go back to your room,".........................congratulations, you are an auditor.This is not a normal reaction, unless you are out of town at least 40 weeks per year. To be honest, I'm not sure that it is a normal reaction even then, but I don't plan on traveling down that road.

Tennessee CPA firm earns new qualification

Nashville, Tennessee, based-LBMC has announced it has been certified by the PCI Security Standards Council as a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) joining a small group of security professionals worldwide. QSAs are certified by the Council to conduct PCI compliance audits for companies that accept credit cards for payment and service providers to the payment card industry. Every merchant that accepts credit cards for payment must be PCI compliant.
