Accounting Majors Obtain Higher Percentage of Job Offers - Survey

Employers may have cut back significantly on college recruiting, but they haven’t abandoned campus altogether, according to the Spring 2002 issue of Salary Survey, a quarterly report by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

"Employers have been extending offers to graduating students in select fields," says Marilyn F. Mackes, NACE executive director. "Although overall demand is down 36 percent from a year ago, there are still signs of life in the college job market."

As reported in Salary Survey, the top 10 majors (based on the number of offers they’ve received) and their average starting salaries are as follows:
