Canada, Dalai Lama, Limbaugh & Uma

Rob Nance,
Publisher

By Rob Nance, Publisher - A recent Deloitte study revealed that Canadians now carry more debt as a percentage of their disposable income than Americans. Apparently, many Canadians are now starting to default on this debt. Unfortunately, the UK, Canada and others are fully in the wake of the U.S. financial crisis. For a while, many analysts thought Canada might stay clear of this storm. Apparently, that’s not the case. This economic tsunami can’t pass quickly enough, that’s for certain.

AccountingWEB is brand new on the Twitter scene. This morning on my first cup of coffee I read that the Dalai Lama recently opened a Twitter account. There’s something very cool about that. It also reminds me of a news report years ago where two college students tried to mail a piece of furniture to the Dalai Lama. The reason that it made the news is that these guys set a living room cabinet on the street by a postal box with a note attached that read: “To the Dalai Lama.” It must have been a slow news day.

I am very disappointed in Rush Limbaugh for his comment concerning President Obama. It was reported that Limbaugh commented: “If I wanted Obama to succeed, I'd be happy the Republicans have laid down. I don't want this to work...I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails.” Shame on you, Rush, shame on you.

On that second cup of coffee I read that Uma Thurman declared herself to be “obsessively punctual.” This is something that Uma and I have in common. I always knew I liked Uma.

Have a great President’s Day weekend.
