AICPA announces launch of Economic Crisis Resource Center

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants has announced that it is launching a new online Economic Crisis Resource Center to provide AICPA members with the information they need to assist their clients during the current very difficult economic times.

"Because of the global economic turmoil, individuals and businesses need highly reliable information that takes all of the latest data and trends into account," said Barry Melancon, president and CEO of the AICPA. "CPAs are increasingly being called upon by their employers and clients — as well as family and friends — for help in navigating the constantly changing current financial challenges. AICPA's Economic Crisis Resource Center will provide our members with the new information they need to help their employers and clients make the appropriate choices."

The Economic Crisis Resource Center contains tools to help CPAs' employers and clients minimize the effects of the recession. The tools include Webcasts, articles, and CPE courses on strategic planning, budgeting, fraud detection, and maintaining the public trust. The Center will be continually updated to take the latest events and information, including government actions and court rulings, into account.
