Margery Piercey, CPA, Partner, Wolf & CO., and Leadership Academy Chair explains, "The Academy was designed to create a network of leaders that will take on leadership roles in the profession and the MSCPA as they grow in their careers." A variety of speakers and topics kept attendees engaged throughout the two-day program. Speakers included: Keynote speaker Bruce Tulgan, president, Rainmaker-Thinking, Inc, and author of It's Okay to Be the Boss; Magid Mazen, Ph.D., Suffolk University Sawyer Business School, and worldwide negotiator; and Ann Marie Sabath, president, At East Inc.
Throughout the program, participants had the opportunity to meet with current MSCPA leadership and past presidents to gain insight into professional and societal involvement. The Academy was sponsored by All States 1031 and Fidelity Investments. Plans for the 2008 Leadership Academy, which will take place next summer, are underway.
