Accounting firm donates $100k to business college

Ehrhardt Keefe Steiner & Hottman PC, the largest Colorado-based accounting and business advisory firm, has announced that it is giving the University of Northern Colorado's Monfort College of Business $100,000 over the next 10 years.

Robert B. Hottman, CEO of EKS&H, said the gift is a way to recognize and support the college's accounting program and faculty for their commitment to educating students from their college career to their professional career in accounting. EKS&H has offices in Denver, Fort Collins, and Boulder.

A portion of the donation will be distributed to scholarships, $3,000 per year, and the college's school of accounting, $2,000 per year. In addition, $7,500 of the donation will enable EKS&H to sponsor a classroom in Kepner Hall, home of the Monfort College of Business.

Tim Jares, interim dean of the college, said he appreciates the investment by the accounting firm to the college's students and accounting program.

"Their contribution toward sponsoring a classroom in Kepner Hall will benefit the entire Monfort College of Business student body," Jares said in a press release.
