What's a CPA? Accountants take their show to YouTube

Earlier this week we read about the Deloitte Film Festival, wherein members of the firm were encouraged to make video movies depicting life as a Deloitte accountant. The videos are to be used as recruiting tools for the firm. More than 370 films were submitted in the firm-wide promotion.

It turns out that Deloitte isn't the only game in town when it comes to finding accountants who want to get in front of the camera. Members of the Maryland Association of CPAs have put together a video currently available on YouTube entitled "Defining America's CPAs: Maryland."

"Your doctor is certified; your lawyer is certified; shouldn't your accountant be certified?" This is the message delivered by the MACPA 7.24 minute video presentation wherein several accountants are interviewed on the job, describing a bit about the positions they hold and the work they do, and enthusiastically discussing the regard in which they are held and the pride they take in their work.

"You will find CPAs engrained in every part of the business and personal society," says Don Butt, CPA and presenter in the video.

MACPA hopes the video will help inform people about the role of CPAs in business and attract students to the profession

You can watch the video on the http://www.macpa.org/Content/23239.aspx " target="_blank">MACPA web site.
