Mandel elected to J.H. Cohn management committee

J.H. Cohn LLP has elected Partner Philip S. (Phil) Mandel, CPA, CFP, to its Management Committee.

“The management committee serves a vital role as the oversight entity within the Firm, and I believe Phil will be an excellent asset to the group,” said Thomas J. Marino, chief executive officer at J.H. Cohn.

In addition to Phil’s election, Partners Michael Cohen, CPA and A. George Sparacio, CPA were re-elected to their roles on the Firm’s Management Committee.

Phil is the Co-Practice Director of the Firm’s Financial Services Industry Practice and he heads J.H. Cohn’s Roseland-based Audit and Accounting practice. An audit partner, Phil provides accounting, auditing, tax and consulting services to hedge funds (including offshore entities), broker dealers, investment management companies, and Registered Investment Advisers. He serves on various J.H. Cohn committees, including the Technology and Operations Steering Committee, and he directed the Firm’s paperless audit initiative. A member of the J.H. Cohn team since receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Vermont in 1989, Phil is also a Certified Financial Planner. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
