American Basketball Association Hires Somerset CPAs

The American Basketball Association, Inc. has selected Somerset CPAs, P.C. of Indianapolis as its independent registered accounting firm.

Somerset is member of the BDO Seidman Alliance, a nationwide association of independently owned accounting and consulting firms. BDO Seidman, LLP is the U.S. member firm of BDO International, comprised of nearly 600 member firm offices in 99 countries. Somerset is a full-service firm with about 130 employees and is one of the 10 largest CPA firms in the Indianapolis area.

The American Basketball Association, Inc. is also based in Indianapolis with 52 professional basketball teams in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The ABA last month announced a merger with Souvall-Page and Company Inc. and is being publicly traded under the ticker symbol SVAP.

The officers and directors of ABA have become officers and directors of Souvall-Page. The shareholders of ABA will continue to control the company.

"Teams in the ABA consist of former NBA players, top Division I, II & III players and international players," ABA CEO Joe Newman told MarketWatch. “Team owners include former NBA, NFL, and MLB players as well as entertainers, attorneys, physicians, clergy and businesspeople."
