Robin grew up with a flair for the dramatic, but her writing career has been strictly non-fiction. She has been freelance writing since her 10-year-old son was a toddler, following a career as a newspaper reporter and editor in New England, Washington and Oregon. Now working from her home outside Boston, she finds it gratifying to help keep AccountingWEB readers keep informed. After all, no profession seems to change as quickly as accounting. Teresa AmbordTeresa Ambord - Staff Writer
After years as a staff accountant at a private university and the operator of a small tax practice, I started doing a little writing on the side. I love putting information together in a way that can help someone do better business or make them laugh. I’m always looking for a story. When I’m not writing business articles I enjoy writing creative non-fiction about my family. Whenever anything interesting happens at home, my family understands that it is fair game and could end up in print. I also am a volunteer foster parent for abused and abandoned animals. So basically, my home is a zoo… and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My dream is to take my career on the road with a couple of my faithful dogs and a laptop. When that day comes I’ll still be doing business articles but I’ll be writing from the comfort of my RV surrounded by all the scenery that Alaska has to offer.

Gail PerryGail Perry - Managing Editor
When Gail was in the seventh grade, she announced to her parents that she was going to pursue a career in music. The very next weekend, her dad took her to work with him, introduced her to his accountant, and said, "Teach her something useful - she's going to need it!" Gail went on to music school (and paid her way through Indiana University by working as a bookkeeper), morphed the flare for music into a degree in journalism and English, and then returned to school at Illinois State University to do it all over again in accounting. Armed with a CPA, she headed for the Chicago tax department of Deloitte, where she spent several years helping small businesses solve tax problems. Somewhere along the way, she found time to write more than 20 books about taxes, financial software, and personal finance, all with an easy, conversational style and a touch of humor. Her titles include "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Doing Your Income Taxes," "Surviving Financial Downsizing: A Practical Guide to Living Well on Less Income," "Quicken All-in-One Desk Reference For Dummies," and, most recently, "QuickBooks 2007 On Demand." She is a former tax humor columnist for the Indianapolis Star newspaper, a contributing editor for Accounting Today and SMBFinance magazines and teaches an online personal finance course. In her spare time, Gail dreams of playing the fiddle in a bluegrass band.
